Description

'Fast Compression Backup' task in a Maintenance Plan has no Always On Availability Group options for backup of secondary replica, or the preferred replica. It only has options to backup primary replica or none. (FC configured from the Backup Wizard also has the same limitations)
We would like to use FC AlwaysOn backup to the secondary replica, or the preferred replica as specified in the Availability Group, like the regular 'Back Up Database' task does allow.

Cause

That functionality is not available.
This difference in available options isn't due to Fast Compression (FC) versus Regular backups.
The lack of the options is actually due to the Full backup versus Differential backup.

And that, in turn, is due to differential backups not being supported on secondaries. And that fast compression relies on differential backups (anytime its not creating a new full backup, which is most of the time). Even the regular backup (not just FC backup) will give you only the option to back up the primary or backup none when the backup type is 'Differential'.
Resolution

Enhancement request LS-1562 has been submitted to Development and Product Management for consideration in a future release of LiteSpeed for SQL Server
In the meantime, you can already essentially achieve this functionality by setting up two subplans within one Maintenance Plan. For example:
The first subplan is a fast compression task that backs up only the primary.
The second subplan is a normal full backup task that backs up only the preferred. (the always on availability group must be set up so that the secondary is the preferred).
Then depending on what role the replica is in one or the other subplan would run.
