If a backup has been created with LiteSpeed 3.0.124.2 using compression level 2/3 then it will not be possible to restore this file using another build of the software on another server. Compression level 1 backups should have no problems. They should be able to be restored using the same version but with any other version you will get the message "failed to uncompressing data block".
This is a known issue. You will need to upgrade to the latest version of Litespeed to resolve this problem as this will ensure that any future backup files created will not cause problems restoring the file.
If you have a backup file that was created in version 3.0.124.2 using compression level 2/3 that needs to be restored, the best way to restore it would be to use the extractor utility that comes as part of LiteSpeed install, which extracts the native file out of the LiteSpeed backup file. If that is not possible then the only other way to restore it would be to install version 3.0.124.2 onto your restore server and restore it using the exact same version.
