How to make a backup job dependent on another finishing?

I need to know if there is a way to make one job dependent on another finishing. For example, to have backup jobs or integrity check jobs run in sequence for both same and different instances on the same server (so when one job finishes the next one starts). We have jobs overlapping which is causing a significant issue and since I can't ever really know how long a job will take to complete the only way to really make this work efficiently is to be able to have a dependency so when one finishes the next one begins. 

Double click source version is 6.5.0, the target old version was 6.1.1 which user was able to restore using the xp_restore_database command.

Since, the upgrade to 8.1, the code is no longer the same, and it failed with error 'failure to load xml data to document object'
