Error when installing LiteSpeed for a cluster: "Cannot connect/open registry key"
This is a permissions issue. LiteSpeed does not grant privileges to any object but does require users to have certain grants assigned to them.
Logging in as local administrator on the server may resolve the issue.
The Remote Session may also need to be started with Admin permissions: Start | Run | mstsc /console (opens remote desktop connection)
Control Panel | Adminstration Tools | Add/Remove Programs | Add New Programs | Run Install Programs (choose LiteSpeed*.msi)
Permissions required for install include ability to install extended stored procedures, stored procedures, create databases, tables, and indexes. This requires permission to insert, update, and delete from MSDB and the local/central repositories.
