After renaming a SQL Server host, incorrect SQL Server instances may not be deleted from the LiteSpeed Enterprise Console
When renaming a SQL Server host, existing registry entries may not be automatically updated. User may add new SQL Server registration but not delete old ones.
To delete SQL Server instances from LiteSpeed Enterprise Console, right-click on the instance name and select Remove Server.
WORKAROUND:
SQL Server instances may be manually deleted from the registry (reboot is not required):
1- Close LiteSpeed Enterprise Console.
Note: Export a copy of the original registry to the desktop or folder, this will allow the original registry to be reloaded in the event of an error. Consult your System Administrator before editing the registry. For additional information, see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322754/
2- From the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Imceda\Servers
Below the servers key, the SQL Servers instances registered in LiteSpeed Enterprise console will be listed.
3- Select the SQL Server instances names folder and delete inaccurate server name key.
4- Launch LiteSpeed Enterprise Console and the unwanted SQL Server instances will no longer display.
Applies to all versions of LiteSpeed and SQL Server.
