Everything past NUL character is not being displayed in Editor and Grid Popup Editor

There is a display issue with NUL characters in Long data fields. Anything after the NUL character does not get displayed.
In version 10, the NUL character would display as an empty square. In version 12, the NUL character is invisible but the entire string will show. In version 13, everything past the NUL is not displayed. This can happen in the Editor or in the Grid Popup Editor.
