Toad for Oracle 2025 R3 - Installation Guide

Trial licensing

A free 30-day trial license is automatically provided to new users after you sign in to Toad for Oracle with your Quest account.

To activate a trial

1. Download and install Toad for Oracle from https://www.quest.com/products/toad-for-oracle/

2. Open Toad and click Sign In or Start Free Trial to sign in

   Note: You will need to sign up for a Quest account if you do not have one.

To purchase a commercial license

1. Click Buy Now on the trial banner displayed at the top of Toad
2. Select the edition that is right for you and complete your purchase using the same email address used for your Quest account
3. After receiving your purchased license, open Help | Licensing and click Refresh

Subscription licensing

Open Toad and select Sign In or Start Free Trial to sign in with your Quest account. Any Toad for Oracle subscription licenses associated with your account will be retrieved automatically.

Offline licensing

You can apply offline license files (.xml) and legacy offline licenses (with a license key and site message) in Toad using the Help | Licensing window or from the sign in dialog.

Any user settings from a previous version of Toad on the computer will be automatically imported, with the most recent version's settings being used. You can also export settings from another computer and import them into this installation of Toad, select a different installation on this computer to import settings from, or reset your user settings to their original default state.

To import settings from another computer

To complete these steps, Toad must be licensed on the old computer.

1. On your old computer...

   1. Open Toad from which you want to copy settings

   2. Open the Utilities | Manage User Settings... window

      Note: In older installations, this feature is available under Utilities | Copy User Settings...

   3. Export your settings
   4. Copy the exported settings file (.zip) to your new computer

2. On your new computer...

   1. Open Toad for Oracle 2025 R3
   2. Open the Utilities | Manage User Settings... window
   3. Import settings using the export file you created on your previous computer

To reset settings to their original default state

1. Open the Utilities | Manage User Settings... window

2. Select Reset to a clean set of user files from the base installation

   Note: You can optionally retain certain settings during the reset process, such as your saved connections

3. Click OK
4. Confirm the reset and Toad will restart
