Desc: Windows Data copy Policy Jobs fail with 'The Data Copy Plugin' could not started on the client computer (0).
Symptoms:
more than 40 data copy jobs in a policy
Several of these jobs will then regularly and randomly fail with
'The Data Copy Plugin' could not started on the client computer (0).
Problem affects various different clients in the policy. Restarting the failed jobs will result in them hanging on 'running' status but showing no transfer activity.
Job can then not be aborted and the error will appear 'Abort not possible as the job is not active'.
A lack of system shared memory resources on the Netvault server machine.
Solution/Workaround/Procedure:
Restarting the Netvault service will allow the hung jobs to be removed.
The fundamental cause of this problem is a resource issue on the Netvault server. The resolution should be to verify that the parameter 'shared memory used for process table' is set to 128000 and that the interact with desktop option is selected.
To set this go to the list of Windows services. Right click on 'nvpmgr' go to properties, then logon and tick the option 'interact with desktop'. This will assign more system shared memory resources to the nvpmgr service.
