The NetVault Backup home folder should be excluded from real-time or on-access scans. The NetVault Home location can vary. By default Pure64 NetVault Backup for Windows is installed in C:\Program Files\Quest\NetVault Backup, but if you have upgraded it might be in a different location. You can verify the NetVault Home location by going to Change Settings | Server Settings | General. There will be several folder locations configured under the NetVault Home folder.
In addition to excluding the NetVault Backup home folder, the nvfs.exe process should be excluded from these scans. nvfs.exe is the process used by file system plugin backups. It might access every file on your computer during a backup. nvfs.exe is located in the plugins\filesystem folder.
