When configuring the Microsoft 365 tenant within Migration Manager for AD to Microsoft Office 365 the following error is encountered:
"Verification Failed"
"Windows Powershell updated your execution policy successfully, but the settings are overridden by a policy defined at a more specific scope........."
While these errors usually indicate the PowerShell Execution Policies on the MMAD server are too strict, in this case, the policy is more relaxed than the setting MMAD tries to apply. This raises the error displayed by MMAD and stops the configuration process.
The "MachinePolicy" should be set to "RemoteSigned"
There are multiple ways to accomplish this, which vary depending on the environment.
One quick solution is to set the following registry value on the MMAD console machine.
HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Powershell\ set the "ExecutionPolicy" value to "RemoteSigned" and restart the server.
