Activation for vertically partitioned replication fails with "<table_name> may not be repli (4331029)

When activating a configuration for a vertically partitioned replication, you see the following error:

sp_ctrl (source_server:port_num)> activate config config_name
   "OWNER"."TABLE2(NUM_COL)" may not be replicated because it's neither a table.

The config file is as follows:

sp_ctrl (source_server:port_num)> view config config_name

datasource:o.source_SID

#source tables      target tables           routing map
owner.table2(num_col) owner.table2(num_col) target_server@o.target_SID

At least one space after the table name and before the column specification must be present. Otherwise Shareplex will not be able to parse the entry and would infer the table name and the column list as one complete entity and would fail to find that entity in the database when looking for the tablename. The following is the corrected config file which will activate successfully:

sp_ctrl (source_server:port_num)> view config config_name

datasource:o.source_SID

#source tables      target tables           routing map
owner.table2 (num_col) owner.table2 (num_col) target_server@o.target_SID
