Error attempting to access FLR interface
vRanger crashes with an error: vznwinio.exe has stopped working.
Although this error condition is similar to the issue outlined in KB525, it is different in that the FLR was in progress with KB525. With this issue, the same error occurs before the FLR interface can even be opened and configured for restore. Furthermore, the workaround detailed in KB525 does not resolve this issue.
A possible workaround for this issue is to check for the presence of Windows Defender on the vRanger server. Windows Defender is a Microsoft product that functions as a spyware detection and removal tool.
Microsoft Desktop Experience is an application available for Windows Server 2008 R2 that includes Windows Defender.
If your vRanger server's OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 and Desktop Experience has been installed, check if Windows Defender has been added. If so, remove/uninstall this feature.
