Constant Base Images Happen - Volume Dirty (4040815)

You may find in the core logs that the reason for the base images is because one, some, or all the protected volumes of an agent(s) is(are) in a dirty state.  Creating the need to get a base image.

Follow these steps to confirm if the volume(s) of the protected machine getting base image backups is(are) in a dirty state and take corrective action:

1. From inside the core server open the AppRecovery.log found in C:\ProgramData\AppRecovery\Logs.
2. Go all the way to the end of the document
3. Do a search up by "a base image"
4. If you find an entry indicating "Volume is dirty or not enabled, so a base image will be performed" for the affected agent this means we have a dirty bit in the volume
5. To fix this log in the affected machine getting base images and run chkdsk /r on every volume that is indicated dirty according to your findings in the AppRecovery.log

Your backups should continue to be incrementals after check disk has repaired the issue on the affected volume(s).
