Able to remote control a PC using http://PCNAME:2000 but NOT using http://IP-address:2000. (Where 2000 is the port number over which the Desktop Authority service has been deployed.)
This issue only occurs when a proxy server is enabled in use on the PC, even if the option is enabled to Bypass proxy server for local addresses.
From the Internet Explorer browser being used to remote control, select Tools | Internet Options and select the Connections tab | LAN Settings button and then press the Advanced button under the Proxy server section. In the space provided under “Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with”, type the network potion of your IP address with an * for the host portion. For example, if the IP address you are connecting to is 192.168.3.25 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, then you would enter 192.168.3.* in the field.
