Active Administrator - Firewall Exception Needed to Create New Database on a Remote Server
The Active Administrator Database Wizard reports the following message when creating a new database:
"An exception occurred after creating the database (see additional information below).
Do you want to drop the database that was created since it is in an unknown state? (DbLibrary)
When this occurs, check the details of the exception for the following information:
Unable to create windows group "AA_Admin" on target machine: <name_of_remote_SQL_server>.
See inner exception for more details (DbLibrary)
The network path was not found. (DbLibrary)
The message can appear when the database is created on a remote SQL server and the Windows Firewall on that server is not configured to allow remote management.
Enable the exception for 'Remote Administration' in the Windows Firewall Settings' Exception tab:
