By default the Active Administrator service startup account runs under an account specified by the user when the Active Administrator Server Management application was first started. This account is required to have Select, Insert and Update permissions on the Active Administrator database. If the startup account does not have access to the database, an event 1001 is written to the event log with the message “The Notification Service failed to open the database.”
It is possible to run the Notification Service startup account under the local system account, however; it requires that the database connection be setup to use SQL authentication. To run the Notification Service under the local system account, follow the steps provided below.
