The SPCW client versions do not exactly correspond to version of the TPAM appliance itself. Older versions of the client can potentially work with the 2.5.x version of TPAM.
The following conditions must be satisfied for SPCW;
- If the “About” tab in SPCW shows “(Version 2)”, as in “Security Product Client for Windows (Version 2)”, then the platform in TPAM must be either “SPCW 2”, “SPCW (DC) 2”, or “SPCW Pwd”.- If the “About” tab in SPCW does NOT show “(Version 2)”, then the platform in TPAM must be either “SPCW” or “SPCW (DC)”. The “2” platforms were introduced in TPAM/PAR 2.3.760, and the SPCW client is “version 2” from SPCW 2.3.0 onward.
The 2.4 version of the SPCW client should be mostly compatible with the 2.5 version of TPAM and you can continue to use the older version of the client as long as it is working without issue.
If a defect is discovered that requires a hotfix, the recommendation will be to upgrade to the latest version of the client to see if the issue also exists in the new version.
If the latest version resolves the issue, then you should continue using it. If the same issue is seen in the new version as well, then a fix will be provided for the latest SPCW client, but no fix will be provided for the older version. -

To guarantee proper compatibility between SPCW and your TPAM appliance, we always recommend using the latest versions.
