When creating the first website under Web Access Site Manager in a vWorkspace 7.5+ upgrade / install the process may fail with the following error message:
"Error creating website: The password does not meet the password policy requirements. Check the minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements"
When creating a website, vWorkspace will create the user "QVwUser1" as a local user on the web server if it doesn't already exist. This user creates the vWorkspace websites and runs the application pool for the vWorkspace websites.
This user will have a randomly generated password but If this doesn't comply with a password policy that exists on the server / domain then the above error will be thrown.
Creating the local user QVwUser1 on the webserver with an appropriate password that matches the policy, prior to creating the first website will fix this problem.
This should allow you to create a website.
Then you will need to make sure the applcation pool (QuestWebAccess) has the correct details in the Identity.
Under the IIS app pool, find QuestWebAccess, select advanced settings - Process Model - Identity - Set the user to SERVER\QVwUser1 and enter the password you set, (where SERVER = Web server computer name).
Finally, restart the App Pool.
