We got our Foglight Experience Viewer (FxV) system board swapped weeks ago and it did work for a while. But then later on it stopped working and we could no longer access FxV web console and could not ssh to the FxV appliance it as well. We believe the issue is NIC enumeration-related.
We have tried to ‘re-enumerate network card’ through Setup Console and reboot the system. But we still get errors like 'no interface found'.
This issue occurs when:
1. the motherboard has been replaced or
2. interface cards (NICs) were replaced and the mac addresses have changed
The following steps could be done either remotely through iDRAC or locally by accessing the box physically.
a) Logon to the FxV box by using ‘support’ as user and ‘support’ as password. And run ‘su setup’ input password ‘setup’ hit enter so you could see the setup command line console.
b) Choose 2), 2) ‘Configure Network Cards’. You will see the 2nd screenshot above about your current NIC configurations. Please take a note about your IP, subnet, gateway configurations for both eth0 and eth1. This is important because we will remove the current configurations and re-input all these info you backed up here. (you might need to use ‘tab’ and arrow keys to select items or options)
c) After you confirm that you have backed up all network settings, select a NIC and choose ‘delete’. You need to remove top 2 lines under ‘Network Card Configuration Overview’ box. Choose ‘Finish’ to quit this screen and return to main menu.
d) In main menu, choose 2) then 5), which is ‘re-enumerate network cards’, hit ‘yes’ to complete. Return to main menu.
e) From main menu, choose 6), 2) ‘Reboot appliance’.
f) Once the box is booting up, you need to logon to the setup command console again. From the main menu choose 2) 2) ‘Configure Network Card’. You need to re-configure all associated info including IP, subnet and gateway, etc. (you might need to use ‘tab’ and arrow keys to select items or options)
