Large files servers take long to process, which is expected, however processing is automatically terminated exactly 12 hours after being started.
Processing summary looks similar to the following:
FileSystem 5334987 5098553 0 12:00:01 terminated
LocalGroups 0 0 0 00:00:00 terminated
UserPrivileges 0 0 0 00:00:00 terminated
Printers 0 0 0 00:00:00 terminated
Is there a way to continue processing or speed it up?
The 12 hour timeout is the default setting for resource processing. Usually workstations should not take so long to process, but in case of large file servers this may be different.
Timeout can be set in the registry
Create the following registry branch on the RUM Console:
for 32 bit machines:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Tools\Current Version\Resource Updating Manger\
for 64 bit machines:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Aelita\Migration Tools\Current Version\Resource Updating Manger\
Under that create a DWORD key
DefaultInProgressTimeout
and set the value in minutes
default value is 720 which is 12 hours, so to increase it to 48 hours, set the value to 2880
Consider the following if servers are taking long to process:
1) processing using the agent is always faster than processing computer remotely without agents
2) turing off the option to view processing progress will speed up the processing up to being two times quicker, since the entire file system needs to be enumerated first in order to count the progress percentage.
3) turn off roaming profile processing if server holds no roaming profiles, this option also enumerates all files on all local drives
