The callstack shows that the fetch indicator (small arrow in the upper right corner) couldn’t be opened. Every time the fetch indicator changes status this function is called. Therefore the windows OS might not have had enough resources available for spotlight at one point in time to draw the fetch indicator. See how many other applications were running at the time the error popped up? Other applications were starting? Is spotlight running at a virtual machine?
