What is the difference between the "Console Storage" tab and the "DC Storage" tab?
The "Console Storage" tab refers to storing the backups locally on the Recovery Manager server. The "DC Storage" tab refers to storing the backups on the Domain Controller. For example if a backup path of D:\Backups is being used on the "DC Storage" tab then the backups will be saved on the Domain Controllers D:\. Both tabs support using a network storage path (for example \\server\share).
If a network share is specified on the "Console Storage" tab then the data will travel from the DC, to the Recovery Manager and finally to the network storage location. If the network storage device is closer to the DC in the LAN/WAN then it is advised to use the "DC Storage" tab to specify the network path.
Please Note: If the backups for some DCs appear to be very slow, and the backups are configured to be stored on the console or a network share, please try storing the backups on the DC to see if there is a performance improvement.
