How to force users to utilize Universal Printers or other local resources (4259336)

Customer need to force Web-IT users to utilize Universal Printing feature

There are 2 ways to enforce Universal Printing for users.

First way to enforce some client feature is to create a Connection Policy through vWorkspace Management Console. This policy will be applied to user regardles of the way of connection. To access this feature:

• open vWorkspace Management console
• expand Resources
• click on Connection Policies
• create a new Connection Policy, enabling or disabling specific features as needed
• assign the new Connection Policy to user, group of users, etc

The other way can be used to differentiate between user connecting through Web-IT and through the 'thick' client/vWorkspace Connector. In such scenario, please make sure that Connection Policy is not applied to the target user/group/etc. in vWorkspace Managemtn console. Connection Policy will override everything set on the client or or on Web-IT server. To modify Web-IT option, please perform the following:

• access Web-IT server
• open Web-IT admin page. Usually it's http://localhost/provision/web-it/admin
• the first available farm is automatically shown there, so please click on Local Resources
• verify if the "Inherit the global local resource settings" is checked or not. If it's checked, please click on Local Resources, under the Global Settings on the left side of the page
• enable of disable necessary options on Local Resources
• decide if you want users to be able to change these options by checking/unchecking the "Allow user to override local resource settings" option
