Is Red Hat Linux 6.0 or Red Hat Linux 6.5 supported by InTrust?
RedHat Linux 6 is not currently supported (as of InTrust 10.7) as rsyslog (used in RedHat 6.x) is different than syslog (used in RedHat 5.x and earlier) and our code doesn't support rsyslog natively.
RedHat 6.x is not supported as of InTrust 10.7 and may or may not be supported in later builds. If running a newer build please review the Release Notes (part of download package) to see if RedHat 6 is included. Enhancement requests ST73757 and ST73758 have been logged for tracking purposes as well.
There are independent web sites that document how to forward events from one RedHat machine to another and if this is setup correctly a RedHat 5.x machine can be used as a 'proxy' for the rsyslog data from a RedHat 6.x machine. The correct setup including rsyslog.conf (RedHat 6) , ipchains (RedHat 5), syslog (RedHat 5) may vary from site to site but once you have 'logger' (or similar) able to log the same events to the RedHat 6.x and RedHat 5.x 'proxy' then an InTrust agent on the RedHat 5.x machine will collect this data (along with the local RedHat 5.x syslog data). RedHat 5.x support is included in InTrust 10.2 and later.
