Description: When trying to install license, you receive message "License not installed. Machine-tied server license".
Symptoms: You try to install the license that you received from the Licensing department, via e-mail, but it fails with "License not installed. Machine-tied server license" message/pop up.
This is usually 1 of 2 things.
1. You are trying to install the key on the wrong machine
- or -
2. Key was generated for the wrong Machine ID.
Double Check Your Machine ID, on the Machine that you are trying to install the key. If your Machine ID (which you can get from your NetVault Configurator/Machine Tab) is different than the one in the e-mail that you received from licensing, then the key was made for the wrong machine, and you will not be able to install it.
Or
You are trying to install it on the wrong Machine.
Always make sure that the Machine ID in the e-mail from the keys department, and the Machine ID on the machine your trying to install , match.
If the wrong Machine ID is the issue (because of a type-o or just a mistake), then you will need to e-mail the keys department once again, and give them the Correct Machine ID. They will generate a new key for you, with the correct Machine ID.
