The Quest ChangeAuditor Coordinator service failed to start. When manually go to Services console and start it, it will stop immediately even when the user name and password use to connect to the SQL database are correct.
When checking the "ChangeAuditor.Service.exe.nptlog" log file, the following error appear in the log file:
2010-09-21 12:19:31.937 [DEBUG][Initialize(0)] System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
---> System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x8007052E): Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
The issue is the coordinator service account trying to authenticate with Active Directory. This normally due to Domain name or network connectivity issue.
Make sure the machine can contact the Domain Controller without any issue. Also, please make sure the name resolution working is working fine. Checking the security log on the domain controller may have the logon failures and indicate the reason.
