How do you set up the Remote connection for Quest Collaboration Services?
The Internet Information Service must be installed on the QCS console. If QCS has been installed before the IIS was installed console, then the following from the installation Guide must be followed.
If you install IIS after installing Collaboration Services, in order to enable remote access, you need to repair the Collaboration Service installation by selecting the Repair option from Add/Remove Software. For details, see the Repair or Uninstall section of the Quest Collaboration Services User Guide.
On the computer you want to do the remote access from you enter into Internet Explorer the following:
http://server_name/QCS
where server_name is the name of the QCS console.
The screen will be blank for a short period and then you will get a dialog box asking to install the remote software.
Once the software has been installed you will then have a QCS GUI. Every time you return to the address noted above you will access the QCS GUI.
Note: The following is from the latest release notes (3.5) for QCS:
You need to manually uninstall the previous version of the Collaboration Services remote web interface before or after an upgrade using Add/Remove Programs. Once that is completed, the new version of the web interface package will be downloaded automatically when you first connect to Collaboration Services server remotely.
