Is there is a way to automatically have vWorkspace clients load a new copy of the config.xml?
When the vWorkspace client is started for the first time in an un configured state it will attempt automatically download the config.xml configuration file. Once the vWorkspace client is configured it will not automatically check for updated config.xml content.
WORKAROUND 1
To update the vWorkspace client with new config.xml settings follow these steps:
1. On the client computer have the users open AppPortal.
2. Select the Actions Menu then the Manage Connections option.
3. Click the Reload button and then click OK to confirm.
WORKAROUND 2
The AppPortal can be launched by running:
pnap32.exe
If you change the shortcut to the following;
pnap32.exe /autodelete
This will delete the current configuration. As long as the Config.xml is reachable, AppPortal will automatically reload it.
If you change it to the following, it will do the same as above but in the Desktop Integrated mode.
pnap32.exe /autodelete /di
Test this on a machine first to make sure that AppPortal automatically reloads the new configuration.
