I have a Solaris host andI have created two instances of the LogFilter agent. The agents are running. On the FMS they appear on the Agent Status dashboard. However, they do not appear underthe created statehost on the Host Browser dashboard. I have restarted both the FglAM on the host and the FMS on the FMS server. Neither action fixed the problem. I can see the agent making contact with the FMS in the FMS log file.
Logfilter agents deployed and but are not showing in the dashboard under its deployed host. Check the contents of the ASP settings. The log name and directory path was configure correctly using Regular expressions. I reviewed the error log from get log. Within the contents it listed finding the log name and directory patch.
As with all agents, the LogFilter agent needs to collect at least once before it will appear under the Host.So if there are no match string messages configured against the specified log to collect on, the agent wont collect. This needs to be configured in the LogFilter ASP.
Dashboards | Administration | Agents | Agent Status | Highlight LogFilter agent | edit properties
1. Navigate to the Log File list sections and verify existence or enter the log path and name in the designated locations(for the log name use regular expressions, these examplescan be found under the help guide on the console in the right pane)
2. Continue down to the Match List area and under Message Trap List edit FilterTrapFile. Click add new row. The Match string has to be a message/word thats going to exist in the specified log.
3. Save all the way out and deactivate/activate the agent.
