Benchmark Factory (BMF) still shows "Evaluation Version" after applying production key and site m
After appling the license key and site message, Benchmark Factory (BMF) seems to accept it, but then after exiting and restarting BMF, the trial license is still applied and the splash screen still says evaluation version.
It has been confirmed that the issue with the BMF license key is a bug that will be fixed in a version 6.1.1 patch that will be forthcoming.
The issue is that BMF is using any valid QuestKey license (BMF 6.x) over any QSA keys (these are the older keys issued before BMF 6.0). So by default BMF installs with a Trial QuestKey, so after the user starts BMF, this key is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\<login name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Quest Software\ProductLicenses.xml file. When the user enters a valid QSA key, instead of deleting the no longer used QuestKey, BMF is using the valid QuestKey (which happens to be a trial key).
As a work around you can;
1) Make sure BMF is shutdown. 2) Make sure the QSAuthorize93.key (for BMF) and QSAuthorize89.key (for VUs) located in the My Benchmark Factory directory contains the desired QSA keys. 3) Edit the ProductLicenses.xml file and remove the entries for BMF and VUs licenses. (this file contains the newer QuestKey style keys) 4) Restart BMF console.
