I would like to access the Foglight Experience Monitor databases directly.
The Foglight Experience Monitor includes a feature that allows for remote access to the FxM databases.
NOTE: the port 3306 between the FxM appliance and the computer accessing the FxM's database must be open. You may need to change your firewall settings to allow the communication.
To enable Remote Database Access:
1. Log into the FxM web interface.
2. Choose Configure | Appliance | Database from the top menu.
3. Click the Configure Remote Database Access link.
4. Make sure the Enable remote database access for SQL user dbuser checkbox is checked.
5. Enter a password for dbuser.
NOTE:The install guide states that the password must be a strong password but onecannotuse the ! (exclamation point) in a password for MySQL access.
6. Click OK.
Details on remote database access may be found on page 90 of the FxM install guide. Detailed information on the FxM databases may be found in the FxM SQL guide. Both of these documents may be found under Help | Contents in the FxM web interface.
The strong password policy requires that passwords be at least six characters in
length, and contain characters from at least three of the four following character
types:
? upper case, English alphabetic characters: A-Z
? lower case, English alphabetic characters: a-z
? base 10 numbers: 0-9
? non-alphanumeric characters: e.g., !, $, #, or %
