With every upgrade Performance Analysis installs new configuration files and binaries. The old files were not deleted. After done 4 upgrade the disk space on my machine is very low and a next upgrade won't be possible unless the old versions get removed.
Is there an automatic procedure to clean up the installation folder from old installations?
No, there is no automatic procedure to clean up the installation folder from old installations.
This is not considered a problem, but a deliberate policy - we retain old versions specifically to provide a fall-back if a new installation fails.
If you wish to run PA on the smallest possible footprint, then you need only uninstall the current version each time before installing the new release. This approach works for re-installing existing versions. You can comfortably remove and reinstall to ensure you have only those binaries needed.
If you wish to retain both the smallest disk footprint AND failback capability, then we recommend installation into a version-specific directory each time. Once the new software is proven to your satisfaction, the older versions are quickly deleted and disk space recovered.
