How to verify standard long term repository has been reconfigured to use partitioned repository?
There is no automatic upgrade path from standard repository to partitioned repository.
In order to implement a partitioned repository, it is required to first to establish a partitioning strategy, and second to create the partitioned repository manually, and lastly to install the PA Agents to reconfigure the repository manager.
To find out if all instances have been successfully configured to run against a new repository database, perform the following after partitioned repository implementation has completed :
1. Logon to the repository database as the partitioned schema owner
2. Run this query against the repository database:
select * from quest_instance_dim;
3. The values of host and instance_name reflect the instances that had been configured to this new partitioned repository.
Partitioned Repository is an advance option which is made available starting from Performance Analysis Oracle 6.5.
Details on How to Implement a Partitioned Repository is described in Long-term Performance Repository Partition Option document. This document is available on SupportLink | Documents section.
