Is it possible to change the location of the Rmad.db3 and Backups.mdb files?
It is possible to change the location of the Rmad.db3 and Backups.mdb files. While registry keys are responsible for this configuration, there are no recommended guidelines available, as this change is not commonly attempted. However, testing has been performed and the following procedure was identified:
1) Stop the Quest services on the RMAD machine:
Quest Recovery Manager Cloud Storage
Quest Recovery Manager Hybrid Restore
Quest Recovery Manager Remote API Access
2) Ensure no other Quest processes are running (a host restart is recommended; if performed, the services must be stopped again afterward).
3) Move Rmad.db3 and Backups.mdb to the required location.
4) Update the following registry settings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Quest\Recovery Manager for Active Directory
BackupsDatabase
Database
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Quest\Recovery Manager for Active Directory
BackupsDatabase
Database
5) Start the services.
6) Launch the RMAD console and perform some basic testing (create a new backup, navigate through different nodes in the console) to confirm no errors occur.
