How to add licenses and register them to a specific product?

Follow the below steps using the License Portal to assign seats for a license:

A license can be added to an individual Quest account e.g. jane@mail.com or to an organization account e.g. Quest Software Corp.

To add a license to an individual Quest account:

1. Click the Add License button from License Portal Home page, or click the blue plus sign icon from Personal Licenses page

2. Enter a valid 9-digit license number

3. Ensure the Destination entry is properly selected

4. Click the Assign button

*When a license is added to an individual account, that account becomes the License Owner of that license. See User Roles KB for additional information.

To add a license to an organization account:

1. Locate an existing organization or create an organization by using the "Switch to another account" drop-down list from the top of the screen. See How to create an organization KB for additional information.

2. Click the Add License button from Organization Overview page
   Click To See Full Image.

3. Enter a valid 9-digit license number

4. Ensure the Destination entry is properly selected and click Assign 

5. Assign an individual account (seat) to the new license. Follow the steps in How to assign a seat to a license? KB to assign an individual account to the license.

*The assigned individual account can launch the product and sign in. They can select Help | About menu option to view the registered license.

**The individual account creating the organization becomes the Organization Owner. An Organization Owner acts as the License Owner of all licenses added to the organization account. See User Roles KB for additional information.
