In Outlook, Enterprise Vault (EV) shortcut items may display only a single attachment. You may require additional clarification regarding the behavior of S1ConvertToEVShortcut and how attachments are handled. S1 = (Source One).
The functionality is deleting all attachments from the imported Source One (S1) message and it creates one default hidden attachment. This behavior is the same for every source we import into Enterprise Vault (EV). During the process, the resulting shortcut item does not retain the original attachments. This is expected behavior and not a defect. This is how Archive Shuttle is designed to function.
Attachments have not been lost. They were imported into EV. It means when you will check message that was imported to EV it should contain all the attachments that the previous S1 message contained. Shortcut creation was developed like this because Archive Shuttle does not know anything about shortcut policies that can be configured on the EV server.
To see the attachments connect to Outlook with installed EV addon and restore the message from EV.
It will convert EV shortcut to normal message that has been migrated to EV and the attachments are then visible.
