When launching Toad for Oracle 2026 R1 on macOS 26.4 or later, users may encounter the following warning message:
“Support Ending for Intel-based Apps. This version of ‘Toad for Oracle’ will not open in a future release of macOS.”
This may occur even on Apple Silicon devices such as an MacBook Pro M2.
This warning is triggered by macOS and appears to have been introduced starting with macOS 26.4.
Toad for Oracle for Mac is currently built using Intel (x86) architecture. While Apple Silicon devices support Intel-based applications through Rosetta translation, macOS is now proactively notifying users about the future deprecation of Intel-based applications.
We expect no impact until Apple releases macOS 28 (anticipated in Fall 2027). A fix is planned to be available before that release, and the team aims to deliver it earlier if possible.
