Firewall Requirements for Toad for Oracle AI Code and AI Explain Features (4382771)

Configure firewall settings to allow AI Code and AI Explain features in Toad for Oracle to function properly.

AI features require outbound network access to specific Quest cloud services. If these endpoints are blocked by the firewall, the features will not work.

1. Allow outbound HTTPS traffic (port 443) from the client machine.
2. Configure firewall rules to allow outbound access to the following DNS (FQDN):
   • *.ai.ism.quest.com (required for AI services)
   • licensing.toadworld.com (required for license validation)
   • *.quest.com
3. Use DNS-based whitelisting (FQDN) instead of IP addresses
   Note: Do not whitelist IP addresses, as they are dynamic and may change.
4. Apply the firewall changes.
5. Launch Toad for Oracle and verify that AI Code and AI Explain features are functioning correctly.
