Types of Recovery Manager for Active Directory agents and the purpose difference between them
Apart from the agentless restore for AD.
There are three types of Recovery Manager for Active Directory agents, each of which serves a different purpose.
Backup Agent - Runs on the DC Locally, compresses the backup, sends the backup to the RMAD server and/or storage.
Automatically installed / uninstalled or pre-installed.
Object Restore Agent - Optional, allows password restore, allows SID history restore.
Automatically installed / uninstalled during the restore process.
Forest Recovery Agent- Facilitates forest recovery restore configuration, makes DC available.
Must be preinstalled on all DCs.
