TrapAgent activation fails with "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" (4382420)

The Foglight Agent Manager (FglAM) and IntegrationAgents package were upgraded to version 8.1.0, but the TrapAgent does not start.

The following errors can be seen in the agent logs:

ERROR [FglAM:IncomingMessage[4]-25] com.quest.glue.core.agent.AgentInstance - Failed to create agent
agentjava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/http/HttpEntity

ERROR [FglAM:IncomingMessage[4]-25] com.quest.glue.core.agent.AgentInstance - Failed to create agent
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/http/conn/HttpClientConnectionManager

WORKAROUND

Complete the following steps to copy the necessary library files from the Foglight Agent Manager 8.1.0 installation to the IntegrationAgents library directory:

1. Locate the following two library files included with the Foglight Agent Manager 8.1.0 installation:
   • [FGLAM_HOME]/client/[VERSION]/lib/httpclient.jar
   • [FGLAM_HOME]/client/[VERSION]/lib/httpcore.jar
2. Copy the files to the IntegrationAgents library directory:
   • [FGLAM_HOME]/agents/IntegrationAgents/8.1.0.0-202510211323/lib/
3. Restart the Foglight Agent Manager and confirm the TrapAgent can be activated.

This issue has been logged as defect Id. FOG-13365 and it is waiting for a fix in a future release of Foglight.
