Using Offline Subscription Licensing to Activate Toad Applications Without User Login (4382118)

A subscription-based Toad user is presented with a screen requiring either:

• Log in using their user ID and password, or
• Importing a license file.

The customer asks whether it is possible to import a license file on the end-user machine so the user does not need to log in with credentials.

The option to import a license file is not supported with Online Subscription Licensing.
License file import is available only with Offline Subscription Licensing, typically used for secure, restricted, or fully offline environments. Users with Online Subscription Licensing must authenticate through the standard online login method.

To avoid requiring users to log in with credentials, the organization must use Offline Subscription Licensing, which includes the ability to generate and distribute a license file.

How Offline Subscription Licensing Works

1. A designated license administrator logs into the Quest Licensing Portal:
   https://licensing.toadworld.com/
2. The administrator registers the organization’s subscription license.
3. The portal generates an offline license file.
4. The license file is distributed internally to end users.
5. End users apply the file to activate their Toad seats.

After applying the offline license file, no ongoing internet access or user login is required for the duration of the subscription term.

If the customer currently has Online Subscription Licensing and needs offline activation, they must contact their Quest sales representative to switch the license model.
