Behavior of the “Do Not Sync Group Members” setting in a DirSync Group profile.
1\ When “Do Not Sync Group Members” is enabled
If the Do Not Sync Group Members setting is enabled, the member attributes of the group will not be synchronized. Only the group object itself is synced, without any of its members.
2\ When “Do Not Sync Group Members” is NOT enabled
If the setting is not enabled, the following behavior applies:
For a Sync Profile where User Sync is disabled but Group Sync is enabled, and Do Not Sync Group Members is not selected, the product behaves as follows:
• The sync process will include all group members, even users who have not been synced, and have Ready to Sync = No in a DirSync user profile.
• In this scenario, only the group membership is synchronized. The member objects themselves are not synced.
Matching Logic:
Both Group and Group Membership synchronization use the Matching Rule configured in the Sync Group Profile.
• The Matching Rule uses an OR operator.
• This means that if any one condition in the rule is satisfied, the object is considered a match.
