When using Oracle Fusion Cloud as a data source in Toad Data Studio, users may experience unexpected connection drops requiring them to reconnect.
The issue is caused by dynamic IP address changes on the Oracle/Akamai infrastructure.
Currently, Toad does not perform automatic DNS re-resolution or retry logic if a previously resolved IP address becomes unreachable (e.g., due to edge node unavailability or port refusal). As a result, active sessions can fail even when the service is operational but served through a different IP.
Workaround:
Click Reconnect to reconnect to the database to resume work
