Customers report vmware collections stopped working for VMWare 7 and above, and the only way to resume collections is to restart the server, this causes inconveniences and downtime.

A security change has been applied were an open connection needs to be re-authenticated after 7 days.
WORKAROUND:
The connection will need to be reset once a week to maintain monitoring. To avoid having to do this manually, customers can schedule a "Planned Outage" function in Spotlight.

Setup a Planned Outage once a week for 2 or 3 minutes during. Spotlight will momentarily disconnect during the planed outage and reconnect when the scheduled time is completed.
This is optimal workaround while a solution is implemented in Spotlight to refresh the connection automatically.
