How to set a preferred domain controller in GPOADmin?

By default, GPOADmin connects to the PDC emulator and due to this sometimes domain or object enumeration may take very long to complete. 

For a better performance we recommend to set preferred domain controllers.

1- Right-click the domain under GPOADmin and click Options.

 
2- Expand Options and then click Preferred Domain Controllers. Click "Add" select a DC and then click Ok twice.

 
3- Once you add a preferred DC you should be able to see it listed there.

 

You may add a preferred DC for each of the domains that you have under live environment in GPOADmin.

If by any chance you are unable to add a preferred dc from the console, then you may follow the steps from KB article listed below to modify a registry key to add a preferred dc.
