Alarms from the Infrastructure cartridge are not displayed in the Databases dashboard
Description
One of the file systems was almost full for one of the monitored Oracle servers, but the File System Capacity alarm is not showing up on the main Oracle dashboard where all the instances are listed. No OS level alarms for the monitored host are showing up on the Databases dashboard.
Cause
File System Capacity alarm is generated by an Infrastructure cartridge rule. The Database dashboard (Global View Dashboard) doesn't list Infrastructure alarms for the associated host by default. This alarm is displayed in the Host Alarms column which can be activated.
Resolution
This behavior in the Global View Dashboard is the default behavior up to Foglight for Databases version 7.1.0 but the Host Alarms column can be enabled.
Workaround: In the Databases dashboard:
Click the Customizer icon in the top-right corner of the Instances table
Activate the Host Alarms column using the checkbox from the list
Click Apply
Infrastructure alarm are listed like this:
Database Overview dashboard also lists Infrastructure alarms for the associated host. This was confirmed for SQL Server and Oracle agents.
Additional Information
There are improvements planned for the Global View dashboard, but they're still not available at the time this article was published.
