Agent package deployment not completing after upgrading to Foglight 6.3.0

After upgrading Foglight to 6.3.0 and performing the databases cartridges upgrade wizard or manually deploying agent packages the process will not complete and agents cannot be activated.

The following error will be present in the Foglight Agent Manager (FglAM) log:

java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/snmp4j/CommandResponder has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 53.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0
 

The Agent Managers dashboard will not display Deployed Agent Packages while the problem condition is present.

IntegrationAgents 6.3.0 prevents agent packages to be properly deployed.

RESOLUTION

Please contact support for a hotfix for this issue.

1. Install the `Integration-6_3_0_1.car` cartridge.
2. If using IntegrationAgents and agent packages deployed, from the Agent Managers dashboard use "Deploy Agent Package" to re-deploy the package to the affected FglAM.

WORKAROUND

If not using SNMP Trap Agents (TrapAgent) undeploy the IntegrationAgents agent package.

Packages will need to be deleted directly in the Foglight Agent Manager (FglAM) host as the deployed agent packages will not be listed in the FMS while the problem condition is present.
 

1. Stop the FglAM.
2. Delete the following file and directory:
   • [FGLAM_HOME]\deploy\deployed\fglam-client-pkg-IntegrationAgents.gar-0
   • [FGLAM_HOME]\agents\IntegrationAgents
3. Start the FglAM.
4. Complete the agent upgrade process or package deployment as required.

STATUS
This issue has been logged as FOG-5872 and has been fixed in the 6.3.0.1 release of the Cartridge for Integrations.
