After upgrading Toad for Oracle to a new version it does not copy the existing connections file from the previously installed version.

Upgrading the Toad version does not copy the existing connections file from the previous version installed to the new install directory. The solution is to manually copy the files to the new directory under Appsdata. Normally upgrades should retain connections from the old install. 

This odd behavior normally happens when the previous version is uninstalled before installing the latest version. 

When the previous version is uninstalled before installing the new one the directory profile is renamed from XX.X to XX.X_unistalled folder and it provokes the new version did not find the connections.xml file and the settings of the version previously installed. 

The solution is not to uninstall the previous version until the new version is installed and the final user opens it.  The new directory profile is created when the final user opens the new Toad installed.
