Description
To create an AzureAd Application for the M365 Plugin, customers need to follow 16 steps manually, which are mentioned under the section "Using the Microsoft 365 admin portal to obtain configuration details" in the Plugin for Microsoft 365 User Guide. -
Resolution
Using this PowerShell script, we can create a new Azure AD application, provide Application and Delegated API permissions, and provide admin consent for all the permissions.
Instructions:
Step 1: Download and save the AzureAdScript.ps1 script.
Step 2: Run the AzureAdScript.Ps1 script as Administrator.
Step 3. Enter the number of tenants you want to configure.
Step 4: Enter a global administrator username and password.
Step 5. Enter the name of the new application.After the successful execution of the script, you will get the application ID and Client Secret. These credentials will be used to configure the Plugin for Microsoft 365 on the NetVault Server.
Note: To run a SharePoint backup job, you need to provide permission for the SharePoint Online CSOM API manually (please refer - Preparing SharePoint Online for backup and restore section in Plugin for Microsoft 365 User Guide).
