Upgraded GPOAdmin to 5.17. Unable to update the GPMC extension. Looks like Another version of this product is already installed.

Cause
In some cases the error message "Another version of the product is already installed" could be miss leading. sometimes you can get this message when you attempt to install the same version that is already installed. check the version of the extension as per resolution below. -
Resolution
Check the version of the GPMC extension:
C:\program files\quest\gpoadmin
Find the file
GPOADmin.GPMC.Extension.DLL
Right click > Properties > Details
Remove and reinstall steps.
If you still have the installer for the version of the GPMC extension that is on that machine there is a way to remove it. Take the old installer msi for the GPMC extension only and run it on that machine. It should give you the option to uninstall the GPMC extension. If not, it should allow you to install the same version, as the version being installed will match the version on the machine, and then that should let you uninstall the extension.
